Important: States are not interchangeable and cannot be swapped or exchanged with others mid-subscription term.
LocalLook subscriptions are state-specific, meaning that when you start a plan, you are subscribing exclusively to the selected state(s) for the entire duration of the subscription term (30 days for monthly plans, 365 days for annual plans). However you can add or remove up to two states from your plan at anytime during the length of your subscription.
WHEN YOU ADD A STATE:
- Plan Adjustment: Adding a state will change your subscription to either a 2-state or 3-state plan, depending on your current plan's state count.
- Pro-rated Billing: The cost of the additional state(s) will be prorated for the remainder of the current subscription term.
- Renewal Adjustment: At the end of the current term your plan will renew with the new increased state count unless further changes are made.
- Example Scenario: If you have a 1-state monthly plan and add a second state on the 20th of the month, you will be billed a prorated charge for the 10 remaining days of the month for the second state. Access to the state will begin immediately, and the subscription will then renew as a 2-state plan the following month.
WHEN YOU REMOVE A STATE:
- Access Continuation: You will retain access to the removed state(s) until the end of the current subscription term.
- Renewal Adjustment: At the end of the current term your plan will automatically renew with the new reduced state count unless further changes are made.
- Example Scenario: If you have a 2-state monthly plan and remove one state, you will continue to have access to both states for the remainder of the current month. Your subscription will then renew as a 1-state plan in the following month.

Accessing the Edit Plan Menu
Step 1
To add or remove a state, navigate to the Plan & Billing page of your account settings and select the "Edit Plan" button.

Select the "Edit States" button from the available Edit Plan options.
Adding a State
Step 1: Select a state
Select the state you would like to add from the state list on the left side of the screen. Once selected, you'll be able to preview the list of available counties and their data currency in the center table.
If you're ready to proceed with adding your state choice, click the "Add" button in Selected States menu on the right of the screen.
Step 2: Add additional states and/or review changes
After you've added a state, you can see your updated monthly or annual billing amount in the top right of the screen.
From here, you can repeat the previous step to add another state (for a total of 3 states), or click the "Review Changes" button to proceed.
Step 3: Review changes & confirm billing
On the Summary of Changes screen you'll see your new monthly or annual billing total on the left.
Any states added to your account will be billed at a prorated amount for the remainder of your subscription term. The prorated billing amount can be found on the right under "Due Today" and will be charged to your account's payment method upon clicking the "Confirm & Submit" button.
Removing a State
Access to data within removed states will be available through the remainder of the current subscription term. For example, if you have a 2 state monthly plan and remove one state, you will have access to both states for the remainder of that month. The plan will automatically renew at the 1 state plan price the following month.
Step 1: Select a state for removal
To remove a state, simply click on the "x" next to the state's name in the Selected States menu on the right side of the screen.
Step 2. Remove additional states and/or review changes
After you've removed a state, you can see your updated monthly or annual billing amount in the top right of the screen.
From here, you can repeat the previous step to remove an additional state (at least 1 state must remain ), or click the "Review Changes" button to proceed.
Step 3: Review changes & confirm billing
On the Summary of Changes screen you'll see your new monthly or annual billing total on the left along with your next renewal date. Any states removed from your account will still be accessible for the remainder of your subscription term (the last day before your renewal date).
Click the "Confirm & Submit" button in the bottom right to save the changes to your account
